Acrylic painting on canvas.

This painting was part of an exhibition at Fota house. Their collection of paintings includes the finest examples of Irish landscape paintings outside of the National Gallery of Ireland. Mostly dating from 1750 to 1850. Works by artists including William Ashford, George Mullins, and Robert Carver are on display throughout Fota House.
Taking inspiration from these works I gave my painting a long descriptive title, I included very detailed descriptions of the trees by the lake and I used gestural brushstrokes, coloured inks and drips to reppresent the move away from the past.
Inviting the viewer to feel the quiet pulse of the place.
