Acrylic on canvas
Fields of gold was started en plein air on Pilmore Beach. These golden fields on the Knockadoon headland caught my eye.
It brought my attention to sowing the seeds of dreams, for me, the dream to paint and for the farmer realising a dream of a full crop of corn.
This painting is more realistic for me as I wanted to capture the shape of the golden fields, and how they nestled into the headland and attracted all my attention. The clouds also have an energy and a solidity to them that echo the headland but doesn’t detract from it.
